The VCS Group is headquartered in beautiful Somerset Pennsylvania and is the group benefit provider of choice for small and mid-sized companies in Somerset and surrounding counties. The firm also provides financial services, life and health insurance products to a select group of individual clients. The VCS Group was founded in 1995 by Mr. Glenn E. Miller, Jr.and now employs eight employees, all of whom are licensed to sell life and health insurance. Together, they re recognizes experts in all aspects of benefit design and implementation and dedicate themselves to giving VCS Group clients superior service and support.
The History of the VCS Group
Since its founding in 1995, The VCS Group has enjoyed continuous growth for many reasons - not the least of which is the company's thorough understanding of the needs of their clients. The majority of those clients are either business owners or human resource directors . Founder Glenn E. Miller, Jr. has worked in both of those roles and truly understands the issues they face.
Prior to starting the company, Mr. Miller was Director of Human Resources at a regional hospital where he was responsible for creating health benefit and insurance plans for the hospital's many employees. He then worked as Vice-President of a large multi-line insurance firm. Mr. Miller's knowledge of the market and broad experience eventually led him to conclude that the market had a real need for a company that focused on and had superior expertise in designing group benefit plans. Eventually, Mr. Miller decided that the best solution was to just do it himself - and the company was born.
Originally doing business as Vanguard Consulting Services, the company opened its doors at a small office near Somerset, PA and occupied a series of larger spaces to accommodate the firm's steady growth. The VCS Group is now located in Suite 301 at 118 West Main Street - a spacious office in the heart of downtown Somerset.
The company's growing number of employees simply reflects the growth of its base of satisfied, loyal customers. Customer retention rates are far higher than industry averages, a fact of which the staff is extremely proud. The VCS Group currently services clients in Somerset, Cambria, Westmoreland, Fayette, Bedford, Blair, Centre, Butler, Indiana and Allegheny Counties - covering most of western and portions of central Pennsylvania.
